Red Monkey Forest & Mangroves

Join our 5-hour guided excursion that will take you through the wonders of Jozani Forest and Mangroves in the charming Muyuni village. Jozani forest is situated in the central east region of Zanzibar Island, about a 30 minute drive from Stone Town.

It’s nestled on a slender piece of land, with Chwaka Bay to the north and Uzi Bay to the south. Within its confines, you’ll encounter a rich tapestry of nature, featuring around half the population of red colobus Monkeys.

Our journey commences with a visit to the Jozani Forest, followed by a delectable lunch at our local cuisine restaurant, conveniently located near the forest. After savoring your meal, our driver will be ready to transport you to Muyuni village, where you’ll be treated to the stunning sights of the Mangrove forest. Your exploration will unfold aboard a traditional local wooden boat, providing an immersive experience of this remarkable ecosystem.
