Today we’re heading to one of Zanzibar’s famous spice farms.
As you stroll through the plantation, nitoursandsafaris will introduce you to the diverse range of spices for which the island is famous.
Smell, taste and touch exotic spices such as cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Learn more about their uses in cooking, medicine and traditional rituals.
This immersive experience offers a deep insight into the agricultural heart of Zanzibar, a feast for the senses and an insight into the island’s historic spice trade.
We will then head to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island.
Formerly used as a yellow fever quarantine station, today it is a peaceful haven for the giant Aldabra tortoises.
Marvel at these gentle giants, some of which are over 100 years old, and learn more about the conservation measures in place to protect them.
The island also offers pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, ideal for a refreshing swim or for snorkelling to discover the colourful underwater world.
We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch on the island, surrounded by its natural beauty.
The day concludes with a visit to Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar City and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
