After a short scenic flight, your adventure begins with exciting game drives through varied landscapes featuring rivers, forests and open plains, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, hippos and numerous bird species. The safari includes a full day exploring the park’s wildlife, with the opportunity to discover the species-rich ecosystem around the Rufiji River. On the final day, you’ll enjoy a relaxed morning before flying back to Zanzibar, bringing an unforgettable safari experience in southern Tanzania to a close.
Details
This adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar and a transfer to the airport, from where you will fly to Nyerere National Park in a light aircraft. This national park is one of Africa’s largest wildlife reserves and forms part of the historic Selous Game Reserve ecosystem. Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, you will be warmly welcomed by Nitoursandsafaris and given a brief briefing before your first exciting game drive through the park begins. During the drive, you can spot many wild animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions and a variety of bird species. In the late afternoon, you will be taken to your safari lodge or tented camp to check in. There, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in the heart of the African wilderness.
After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will set off on a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. The diverse wildlife in this nature reserve, including large populations of elephants, African wild dogs, lions, leopards, zebras and hippos, as well as over 400 species of birds, will enchant you. nitoursandsafaris will guide you through various habitats, such as the famous Rufiji River ecosystem, where animals often gather to drink and cool off. A picnic lunch will be served at a picturesque spot in the park, allowing you to relax amidst nature. On this final day, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, followed by a short morning game drive or some free time to soak up the stunning natural landscape of Nyerere National Park. You will then be taken back to the airstrip to catch your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, nitoursandsafaris will collect you from the airport and take you back to your hotel.
