This three-day safari takes you into the unique coastal wilderness of Saadani National Park, the only national park in Tanzania bordering the Indian Ocean. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing boat safari on the Wami River, where hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds are frequently spotted. Early in the morning, you will leave your accommodation in Zanzibar. Nitoursandsafaris will take you to the starting point of your journey in Saadani National Park. You will travel by scheduled boat or flight from Zanzibar to the mainland, where you can admire the picturesque views of the Indian Ocean coastline along the way. You will receive a brief introduction to the park before setting off on your first exciting game drive. Saadani National Park is unique as it is the only game reserve in Tanzania bordering the ocean, offering a rare combination of beach and bush landscapes. During the game drive, you can spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, warthogs, antelopes and various bird species. After an eventful afternoon exploring the park, you will head to your camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night amidst the sounds of the African wilderness.
After breakfast, you’ll set off on a wildlife viewing tour in Saadani National Park. nitoursandsafaris will take you through the park’s various habitats, including savannah plains, coastal scrubland and riverine areas where wildlife congregates. Keep your camera at the ready as you look out for animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, wildebeests and many species of birds. You’ll have a picnic lunch at a picturesque spot in the park whilst continuing to enjoy the natural surroundings. In the afternoon, you can either go on a boat safari on the Wami River, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles and many waterbirds from a different perspective. This relaxing boat trip offers fantastic photo opportunities. In the late evening, you return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
