Details

nitoursandsafaris will assist you at the airport upon arrival (visas, passport control). You will then be offered a light welcome refreshment before being taken to Arusha, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Arusha is a city in Tanzania, East Africa, situated at the foot of Mount Meru. It is the gateway to safari destinations and to Africa’s highest peak, the 5,895-metre-high Mount Kilimanjaro, which lies about 100 kilometres to the north-east.
After breakfast and a brief briefing on the safari, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, where you will go on a full-day game drive until lunchtime. A warm meal awaits you, consisting of soup, bread rolls, a main course and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea or coffee. After lunch, you will continue the game drive until the evening before heading back to the lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the night. The park is situated slightly off the main safari route. Tarangire National Park is a beautiful, peaceful park in northern Tanzania, best known for its elephant migration, birdwatching and its tranquil, authentic atmosphere. Most travellers in this region either skip Tarangire altogether or visit the park for just a few hours, meaning that parts of Tarangire remain virtually untouched.
The day begins with a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. nitoursandsafaris will prepare a hot lunch consisting of soup, bread rolls, a main course and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea or coffee. After lunch, you will continue the game drive into the afternoon. You will then drive to the lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the night. Lake Manyara offers the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded here, and even first-time visitors to Africa can realistically expect to spot 100 of them in a single day. Inland from the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia forest is the preferred habitat of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and the elephants with their impressive tusks.
You will go on a game drive in the central Seronera area until midday. You will then enjoy a hearty hot lunch consisting of soup, bread rolls, a main course and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea or coffee. Afterwards, you will continue the game drive until the evening, before driving back to the lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the camp. The Serengeti National Park is renowned for its healthy population of other native wildlife, particularly the ‘Big Five’, named after the five most sought-after trophies hunted by hunters. Lion: It is believed that the Serengeti is home to Africa’s largest lion population, partly due to the abundance of prey. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African leopard: These elusive predators are frequently spotted in the Seronera region, but are found throughout the national park with a population of around 1,000 animals. The next morning, you will go on a hot-air balloon ride. After landing, you will enjoy a glass of champagne to celebrate the day and a hearty breakfast, followed by a game drive through the central Serengeti in search of big cats and the ‘Big Five’. A warm lunch will be served, consisting of soup, bread rolls, a main course and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea or coffee. The game drive continues into the evening, where nitoursandsafaris provides a picnic table for a sundowner with drinks and snacks before you return to camp, where dinner and overnight accommodation await you. A million wildebeest, each driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfil their instinctive role in the inevitable cycle of life.
On this penultimate day, you will travel from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the ‘Garden of Eden’, is a collapsed volcanic caldera that is home to a unique and diverse array of wildlife across an area of 260 km². Upon arrival, you will drive to the crater floor for a half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to all the ‘Big Five’ (lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos and leopards) as well as other animals such as wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and a variety of bird species, including flamingos. The landscape is breathtaking, with lush greenery and waterholes offering fantastic opportunities for wildlife viewing. In the evening, you will head to your lodge, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
After breakfast, you will begin your return journey to Arusha. Enjoy the picturesque drive through the Tanzanian countryside once more on your way to the bustling city of Arusha. In Arusha, you will be taken directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your return flight. Depending on your departure time, you may still have the opportunity to relax in Arusha or have something to eat before heading to the airport to catch your international flight home.
