Early in the morning, you will set off from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park in a private jeep or by train. You will have breakfast in Morogoro before continuing on to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park, the safari begins
Now begins a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is nestled between the Uruguru Mountains to the east and the escarpment of the Rift Valley to the south-west. Mikumi National Park offers a good insight into African wildlife and is ideal for short visits. It is home to large numbers of giraffes, elephants, buffalo and zebras, as well as lions, wildebeest, hippos, impalas and many other animals. You will stay at Camp Bastian on a full-board basis.
First you’ll have breakfast, then you’ll drive to Udzungwa Mountain National Park, where you’ll have lunch at one of the designated picnic spots. You will then hike to the Sanje Waterfalls, one of the most attractive sights in the Udzungwa Mountains. On the hike through the mountains, you will encounter various primates such as baboons, monkeys, colobus monkeys and many others. In Mikumi, at Camp Bastian, you will have dinner before spending the night.
The morning after breakfast, you will be departing to Dar es salaam to catch your ferry to Zanzibar, or to the hotel to relax, or to the airport.
