Spanning more than 30,000 square kilometres, you’ll experience Africa’s largest national park: Nyerere National Park. In this relatively untouched wilderness in Tanzania, you’ll observe a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, hippos and rhinos, as well as unique bird species and breathtaking landscapes.

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Zanzibar International Airport, from where you will fly to Mtemere Airstrip in Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to Africa Safari Camp, where you can relax. Later, accompanied by nitoursandsafaris, you will explore the local village and take part in various cultural activities. You will then enjoy a delicious lunch at Africa Safari Selous.
After breakfast, your adventure in Nyerere National Park (formerly the Selous Game Reserve) begins. nitoursandsafaris will collect you from the Africa Safari Selous Lodge. You’ll have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and much more.
You will also have the opportunity to spot various bird species and enjoy the beautiful landscape, which is characterised by a varied topography. Along the way, you will pass through wetlands, dry grasslands, open acacia woodlands and higher-altitude areas offering breathtaking views of the distant mountains.
In the afternoon, you will eat your packed lunch and take some time to relax before the game drive continues. Towards the end of the day, you will return to Africa Safari Selous, where a delicious dinner and a restful night’s sleep await you.
After breakfast, you’ll set off on another game drive, which will last until the evening. You’ll be picked up by nitoursandsafaris and head out on different routes to those taken the previous day, setting off from Africa Safari Camp. You’ll spot a variety of animals, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes and much more. You will also see birds and a varied landscape with diverse topography, including wetlands, dry grasslands, sparse acacia forests and higher-altitude areas offering sweeping views of distant mountains.
You can also visit a hot spring and even take a dip in it. However, this depends on the condition of the roads, which can become impassable during the rainy season.
In the afternoon, you will be given a packed lunch and some time to rest. The game drive will then continue. In the evening, you will return to Africa Safari Selous for dinner, to spend the night and to prepare for the next day.
Finally, after breakfast, you will take a walk through the forest with our Bushman, accompanied by an armed ranger. Breakfast will then be served at the camp. Afterwards, get ready for the drive to Mtemere Airstrip, where you will be flown to Zanzibar.
