TENTED CAMPS

If you’re a camping enthusiast and love pitching a tent on these trips too, then you’ve come to the right place.

Have you ever imagined falling asleep to the sounds of lions and elephants? How does it feel to spend the night in a tent, with only the tent wall between you and the African safari?

A tip from Nitoursandsafaris for this unforgettable safari: Spend at least one night in a tented camp during your trip! Nothing is as uniquely African as a night in a tented camp. It is a memory that will surely stay with you for a long time. Unlike in a fixed lodge, here you can smell, hear and feel the wilderness: there is simply nothing else like it!

Despite all the safety precautions, it is important to remember: There are no fences and the animals could actually wander right into the camp and, if you’re lucky, even right up to your tent. As a rule, after dark you will be escorted to your tent by a security guard (known as an Askari). And if you do need to leave your tent in the dark, a walkie-talkie or a whistle will be available to you in the tent. You should also bear in mind that this safari is only suitable for children to a limited extent. Upon arrival, the camp team will give you a safety briefing. Apart from that, serious incidents are extremely rare. So, provided you follow the basic safety instructions, staying in a tented camp is completely safe.
